Instructions to fix android battery optimizations for customized versions of android

Many phone manufacturers customize the android operating system on their phones. One common adjustment, is adding a battery optimizer. These battery optimizers typically monitor for background apps and shut them down. Manufacturers add battery “optimizers” in order to claim their device has better battery life. Unfortunately these changes can cause issues with long running background apps, like Truple.

App developers cannot fix the battery optimizers, however the phone user (you) typically can by adjusting settings within the Settings app. We’ve added instructions for common manufacturers below.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps > Settings > Battery.
  2. Tap MORE or ADVANCED or the Menu icon (upper-right) then tap Optimize battery usage. If not available, navigate: Battery Usage (next to Estimated battery life) > Menu icon > Optimize battery usage.
  3. Tap the Dropdown menu (at the top) then tap All apps.
  4. Find Truple in the list of apps, turn off Battery optimization

Xiaomi / Redmi

  1. Open Settings app
  2. Click Manage apps > Truple
  3. Ensure Autostart is enabled
  4. Ensure all options are enabled within App Permissions and Other Permissions
  5. Click Battery Saver, then select No restrictions

There are a lot of different variations. Please attempt each set of instructions below.

  1. Open Settings app
  2. Click App Management > Truple > Enable Allow Auto Startup
  3. Click Power Saver then choose Allow Background Running

If the device has a Security Center app, do the following:

  1. Open Security Center
  2. Click Privacy Permissions > Startup manager > Allow Truple

Other things to try:

  • Settings > Battery > Others > Truple and then disable all settings.
  • Settings > Battery and storage > Battery Manager and then disable Smart power saving. Click Power consumption details > Optimize for excessive power consumption then uncheck Truple

  3. Click on Truple, disable for Truple
  4. Close Settings app
  5. Open Settings app
  6. Click Power manager
  7. Click Power management for apps
  8. Find Truple, and disable all options.

  3. Tap Truple
